SYNOPSIS OF THE FILM
In our film we decided to define the word Micropolis as a term to denote the part of a city which separates two people that are in love with each other. We shot and edited our own 'micropolis' in the film and spoke of our feelings about relationships. Our focus was to make a short film to remind everyone of their own micropolis, their own distances that they travel in order to meet with people they love, or the distances they used to travel to see the people they might live with today...

GENRE
It is hard to classify "Distance Between" as a fiction film as it is a documentation of real events and locations. It is also difficult to call it a documentary as it does not follow a scientific method of research but rather an emotional approach. Experimental film is a far too lucid term and also brings to mind connotations which we find rather unwanted, such as extreme formalism and lack of classical technique. So we suggest that you approach this film as a cinematographic equivalent to a poem.

THE WEB SITE
The film is not intended for commercial use, therefore this website was built to distribute it over the net. You can watch the film here in its streaming Lo-Res version or download it at higher resosution to watch from your computer and share with friends. Also you can download two songs from the band Anima that wrote the music of the film. This website is a subdomain of a much larger project for the production and distribution of digital cinema through the internet, entitled emptyfilm.
